Wow, today (or yesterday by the time I post this) was very eventful. We escaped the claws of some wild monkeys, braved the depths of a waterfall pool, met a huge toad in the shower cubicle, dodged some low flying bats in our kitchen and watched thousands of hermit crabs head for the beach. All in a standard day. But aside from all of this, my positive outlook came from simply choosing to walk the seven kilometers to the next town of Cabuya, rather than take the dusty noisy bus.
The walk was great, seeing so much that we wouldn’t have, had we been in a bus. The plant life and amazing scenery was truly worth the hike. Spending the journey in peace and listening to the sounds of nature really emphasized the feeling of relaxation.
Instead of it being simply a journey, it became a part of the vacation itself.
